Dear Kindergarten Families,
Next week we are learning all about COLORS! We will be learning songs, reading great books, and creating color collages. Please have your child bring one DISPOSABLE color item to class every day that they can add to our class collage. The colors are listed below. Remember, it is disposable so they will not be bringing it back home. Here are a few great examples of disposables items… legos, paper clips, feathers, beads, hard candy, stickers, bottle caps, and pencils. We want our kindergarten kiddos to stand out so, we will be dressing for the color of the day too. Make sure your child dresses in the color that we are learning about each day. Here is our schedule for next week… Wear the following colors on the given day and bring in an item of the colors. Monday: yellow, blue Tuesday: red, purple Wednesday: orange, brown Thursday: pink, green Friday: rainbow Activity Wish List for each class: 1 bag of Chocolate M&Ms 1 bag of Large Marshmallows 1 box of Fruit Loops If you can donate any of the above items, please see the spreadsheet send out by our Room Parents Lindsay and Amanda. Donations should be sent to the classroom by Monday, September 26th. Have a colorful day, The Kindergarten Team Room 104 Families,

Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com Open House will be help on Thursday, September 22nd at Ray School from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. You will have time to explore the classroom and I will most likely give a short presentation. This is not the time to conference about individual children. Conferences are scheduled for November, but if you would like to meet before then please contact me. There will be a packet of information for each family and it will be labeled with your child's name. Only take the one with your child's name. If you cannot attend, the packet will be sent home in their folder. There will be extra packets available if you child has more than one household so that everyone can get one.
There will be a PTO meeting that same evening at 6:00 p.m. Room 104 Families,

Want to have up-to-date information on after-school programs and school events? Sign up to receive the Ray ENews now by clicking here! Our weekly ENews e-mail is by far the best way to stay in touch with school happenings, get information about after-school programs, and about local and city-wide child friendly events. Also, don't forget to like us on Facebook! Thank you very much! Ray LSC Community Partnerships Committee Today we read Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes. He is a great author and we will read many of his books throughout the school year. As you can see the students did a great job listening to and remembering what worried Wemberly. We even ran out of room on our anchor chart!
I highly recommend Kevin Henkes books to read with your child at home. I'm sure your local Chicago Public Library has a great selection. Kids relate very well to the characters in his books and easily make connections with their own experiences. Dear Kindergarten Families,
We are starting our “All About My Family” unit and we want to celebrate what makes all of our families special. To wrap up the unit, students will be creating posters at home with pictures and writings about their families and traditions to present to their classmates at school. Please assist your child in creating a poster to explain what makes your family and/or traditions special and unique. Here are some brainstorming questions as you are creating the poster:
Sincerely, The Kindergarten Team Tomorrow, and every Wednesday, is Warrior Wednesday. Students should wear our school colors of green and white or Ray School gear to show school spirit.
