Lions and Tigers and BEARS Oh My!
Next week we will be learning about different kinds of bears! We will talk about brown bears, polar bears, and panda bears. We will learn about the habitats they live in, the food they eat and all of their different characteristics. On Friday, March 10th your child should bring their very own teddy bear to school! We will be celebrating the end of “Bear Week” by talking about our favorite teddy bears and what makes them special and different. Please send your child to school on Friday with their favorite teddy bear. Throughout the week we will do a lot of different activities. We are asking for donations of 1 extra large bag of gummy bears, 2 boxes of chocolate teddy grahams, 2 boxes of honey teddy grahams, and large paper plates to help us with some of these projects. If you would like to donate items please fill out and return the slip below. Keeping a strong school to home connection is important to us and we appreciate all of your help! Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com We will be celebrating our 100th Day of school on Friday! Students are encouraged to make a 100th Day shirt at home and wear it to school on Friday. Students are also to bring in 100 snack items (goldfish, pretzels, cheez its, cheerios, fruit snacks, etc) in a bag. Make sure student hands are clean when preparing the snack. We have been talking a lot about the number 100 in preparation... We had a great Valentine's Day celebration today. In typical Ms. Maltz fashion I did not take an pictures. Sorry! Hopefully I will remember to take pictures on the 100th Day. Below is our candy heart experiment where we put one green and one pink candy heart in each water, milk, and vinegar to see what happens. Winter water colors: I will be in professional development all day tomorrow (Wednesday the 15th). While I will be in the building the students will have a substitute teacher.

100th Day is Friday, February 17th. The kids are really excited about the 100th Day of school. The day will be packed full of fun 100th Day projects. We need your help! **Every student needs to count out 100 snack items and bring them in a big plastic bag on the 100th Day of school. Here are a few ideas for 100 snacks: chocolate chips, goldfish, gummy bears, cheese balls, cheese its, cheerios, fruit loops, gummy worms, etc. Please do not include 100 pieces of wrapped candy. We will make a special 100th Day snack with all the items and share them with everyone. PLEASE make sure your child’s hands are CLEAN when counting out the 100 food items. **Decorate a 100th Day shirt with your child. Draw, paint, puff paint, stamp, or glue 100 items onto a white shirt and they will wear the shirt to school on the 100thDay. Trust us, students will LOVE this shirt and never want to take it off! Here are a few ideas: googly eyes, beads, ribbons, stickers, paint, stars, etc. **We need volunteers from 9:15 am- 10:45 am. We will be doing some great centers and we need your help. If you can volunteer please sign the form below and send it back to school with your child. Each class needs at least 4 volunteers. **Wish List: 100 Red Solo Cups. If you are able to donate these to your classroom, please email your child’s teacher as soon as possible. 100 thanks, The Kindergarten Team Dear Room 104 Families,
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Tuesday the 14th. The children are encouraged to bring a valentine for each of their classmates (24). We are asking that the students only write who the valentine is from. Please do not write who the valentine is to. Email your teacher if you would like to volunteer to help with our Valentine’s Day party starting at 1:45 p.m. on the 14th. We are needing donations of two large bags of conversation hearts and treats for our party like cookies or cupcakes. Email me if you would like to donate and/or volunteer. We look forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day next Friday. Love, Ms. Maltz Room 104 Families,
