Things to Know:
Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com Next week (Oct. 3) we will be starting our theme study of apples. We will continue with this theme for nearly two weeks and it will also be incorporated into our literacy and math times. We have so many fun activities planned with apples and even a few great science experiments. Please help out our activities by sending one or two apples with your child to school starting the 3rd. Any color will do!
Happy Apple Picking, Ms. Maltz Results from the beginning of the year dibels assessment will be coming home with students this week. This is an individual assessment that will happen two more times this school year. An explanation will be attached to the results. It my be confusing, so please email me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
I would like to use the Remind app to occasionally send short text messages or emails to all the families in Room 104. The messages will be about things like field trip reminders, reminders if students are to bring in something special to school, reminders to check our class google group, or quick general updates. Please follow the link below if you would like to sign up. I will also be sending home paper instructions this week.
https://www.remind.com/join/ray104 No one, myself included, will be able to see any personal information, phone numbers, or email addresses. Dear Kindergarten Families,
We are starting our “All About My Family” unit and we want to celebrate what makes all of our families special. To wrap up the unit, students will be creating posters at home with pictures and writings about their families and traditions to present to their classmates at school. Please assist your child in creating a poster to explain what makes your family and/or traditions special and unique. Here are some brainstorming questions as you are creating the poster:

Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com We actually mastered read to self last week but I am just getting around to posting this. Tomorrow we will start learning how to rotate between our centers. Next week we will learn our next center which is word work.
Just a reminder that Open House is tomorrow from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. I will give a short presentation and you will be given a chance to look around the room. Stay as long as you would like. Please note that this is not a time for individual conferences about students. Conferences are in November but if you would like to meet with me before that you can email me to set up an appointment. There will be a PTO meeting starting at 6:00 following Open House. |
