Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com Most of the windows in Room 104 are now filled with our greenhouses. As long as the sun shines some of our lima beans should sprout! We will be watching these over the next several weeks.
We are very excited to be having our first Walk-a-Thon on Friday, May 20th. The following link has all the information: _http://rayschool.dojiggy.com/ng/index.cfm/aa1f5fe/regPages/pages/?p=b51bff38
Room 104 is currently is 3rd place in fundraising! Keep up the amazing work! Share your child's fundraising page on your social media and with family and friends. Not only will the money be going to necessary things needed at Ray school (recess supervision and equipment), a portion of the donations will also be going to a local charity. Let's get fundraising! Dear Kindergarten Families,
We will be learning about many different zoo animals over the next two weeks in preparation for our end of the year field trip to the zoo. Below is a schedule of some fun days to plan for… Week 1 5/11 (Wednesday): Dress like your favorite zoo animal 5/12 (Thursday): Bring a zoo animal book to school to read with a buddy 5/13 (Friday): Bring your favorite zoo animal stuffy to school Week 2 5/17 (Tuesday): Zoo research projects due (see below) 5/20 (Friday): Dress like a zoo keeper Week 3 5/24 (Tuesday) Field trip to the zoo Zoo animal research project Students will work with family members and research three different zoo animals and create a booklet. On each page in the zoo booklet draw a detailed picture of the animal, write about their habitat, diet, and fun facts about each animal. All students will present their booklets to their classmates. Have fun and get SUPER creative! Going home today in folders is the information above, the research project paper, and the permission slip. Please return the field trip permission slip on or before May 17th. Thanks, The Kindergarten Team My husband, Jonathan, and I cannot thank you enough for your generous gift. We love trying out different places to eat and are really excited to try this one. It is so nice of all of you to think of us at this time and it was beyond special seeing so many Room 104 families outside when I picked up the students to give me the gift. We have had such an amazing time in Room 104 so far this school year and while it will be sad to see my students and families move on, I know everyone is ready. I am so excited for the rest of the school year. Words cannot express...THANK YOU!
- Becky and Jonathan It has been a while since I have posted some pictures of what has been going on in the classroom, so here we go... Rain/cloud experiment: Shaving cream, food coloring, and water. Maybe red wasn't the best choice! Making 3D Shapes: Time to practice writing our sight words with shaving cream: Tall enough to ride? Partners measured each other with sticky notes: Shaving cream earths: shaving cream and paint. We were a little over excited with our stirring so we ended up with mostly green earths :(
