Welcome to Room 104! This is going to be a very exciting year.
Here is a little background on me:
I grew up in the north suburbs and have been living in the city for the last nine years.
I graduated from National-Louis University with a degree in Elementary Education. I completed my master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago to become a Reading Specialist. Last May I completed my endorsement in English as a Second Language also from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
My experience includes teaching kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade. I have also been an aide and substitute. My CPS experience includes Blaine Elementary, Bell Elementary, and The Nettelhorst School. This will be my fourth year teaching kindergarten at Ray and I truly love and enjoy it.
During my free time I love to read, exercise, travel (the Pictures page has many photos of things we study in kindergarten from my travels), go to the movies, go to restaurants, go to museums, and I have recently taken up cooking. In April 2013, I welcomed an english bulldog puppy into my life that I named Stella. She is a great dog and we spend lots of time on walks, going to the dog park, and just hanging out around the apartment. My students love to hear stories about what Stella has been up to. Because she is too cute to pass up, below is a picture of Stella from from July 2015. This is her “feed me” face:
Our excellent kindergarten team will be working hard all year to meet the needs of all students.
