Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com Room 104 Families,
Our field trip to the Children’s Farm is on Monday, October 26th. This is a normal school day for students with the regular start time of 8:45 a.m. and end time of 3:45 p.m. We will even be meeting with our 7th Grade reading buddies when we get back. How exciting! For our field trip, students should dress for the weather and must bring a DISPOSABLE lunch. The students are really looking forward to this field trip and it should be a great time. Thanks in advance to our chaperones. Ms. Maltz Check out our candy pumpkin experiment below. We put a candy pumpkin in (from left to right) water, vinegar, olive oil, and milk. I took these pictures maybe twenty minutes after putting the candy pumpkins in and as you can see they are already starting to dissolve. Not long after taking the pictures the candy pumpkins were completely dissolved in the water, vinegar, and we think the milk since it turned very orange.

Just a reminder that I will not be here tomorrow. The students know and we even wrote a letter to the substitute teacher. We talked about how things do not always go just by our routine when there are substitutes and the students are prepared for that.
I suggest waiting to turn anything in to me until Friday just to make sure that I get it. Lastly, we did an amazing pumpkin investigation today that the students really enjoyed. Make sure to ask them about it. I will post a picture of the investigation soon. Room 104 Families,

Tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 8th) is Open House at Ray School and I look forward to seeing you all there. Children are welcome. My classroom presentation will start shortly after 4:30 p.m. I understand if you have more than one child at Ray and cannot stay for my whole presentation.
When you enter the room please grab an Open House packet from my Teacher Time table in the back of the room. Please take the packet with your child's name on it. I do have a few extra copies if your child has more than one household and can make more if those run out. I will give a brief presentation then give you time to look around our classroom. At 5:00 p.m. you will be directed to visit the specials (Art, Music, PE, Library, Spanish) classes and at 5:30 p.m. there will be a presentation in the auditorium from our principal and assistant principal. After Open House there will be an LSC meeting. Open House is not the time for individual conferences about your child. Progress Reports will be sent home on Friday and I encourage you to look over those then decide if you would like to have a conference with me. If you would like one; email me and we will set it up. Report Card Conferences will be held in November. Volunteer Opportunity: Let me know if you can come and help pull out pages from math workbooks and sort them tomorrow morning. You can come right up with us in the morning if you would like to help. Any help is greatly appreciated! |
