Have a happy, healthy, safe, and fun winter break! See you on January 4th! Things to Know:
Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com Some families have expressed interest in creating an email list of the families of Room 104. It is a great way to keep in touch, plan play dates, etc. This list will only be for you and not posted anywhere. If you would like to be a part please email Ayesha, Raza's mom, at familybauer3@gmail.com.
We did a science experiment on what would happen to a gingerbread cookie if we kept it in water. Our experiment lasted from Dec 7 - 14. Gross after picture: Some amazing building going on in Room 104: Tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 15th) is the Winter Assembly. Room 104 will be performing and it starts at 1:45. Families are welcome to attend.
Our winter celebration centers are on Friday, Dec. 18th starting at 12:30. Thank you in advance to our volunteers for the event and those donating items! Wednesday - Dress up as a character from a gingerbread book Thursday - Ray School Spirit Day Friday - Pajama Day We have had a Gingerbread Man cookie visiting us all week. He has spent time at the calendar, writing center, book center, centers chart, and listening center. When we got back from recess and lunch today we noticed he had run away! Luckily he left a clue. We first went to the gym and found another clue there that took us to the art room. A clue there led us to the main office and then finally back to the classroom. We found him once again in book center reading books about insects. We were so happy to have him back we taped him to the board by our calendar. We did, however, take him out to recess so that he would not be lonely and run away again. Hopefully he will stay now!

Ms. Maltz [email protected] rmaltz.weebly.com Tomorrow is the grand opening of the student art gallery here at Ray. The art gallery is being dedicated to Ms. Jane Averill, a teacher who influenced some many lives here at Ray. She passed away earlier this week from cancer.
The organizers are asking for some help in bringing some snacks (cookies, sheet cakes) and refreshments to the dedication and opening. If you can please contact Kara Scott (parent to students in first grade and pre-k) at karatiemann@yahoo.com. Thanks so much and I hope to see you there. Attending the opening of the art gallery is also a great chance to visit the mini book fair in the basement. Kindergarten Families,
