Hi All, My family was watching the CNN and Sesame Street Covid-19 special this weekend. It was suggested that children and/or families keep a Gratitude Journal during this time. From communicating with families last week through email and phone conversations, many people brought up being thankful for the extra family time we are getting, for example. I have attached some covers to journals and a blank journal page, if this is something you think you would like your child to do. The different journal covers are: My Feelings Journal, My Gratitude Journal, and My Thankful Journal. Our kindergarten students will be hearing and learning about this time for the rest of their lives, but will have a fuzzy memory of it at best. A journal could be something for them to look back on. They also suggested a Glitter Jar as a way to practice mindfulness. They said to fill an empty jar with water and glitter, shake it up then focus on the glitter settling.
