Hello Families,
I am so excited to begin this school year and am looking forward to getting to know all the students and families in my class. In order to have a successful start to the school year, all students need their CPS gmail and to be connected to my Google Classroom. *If your child is new to CPS this year and you are still in need of setting up their CPS gmail, send me an email ([email protected]) and I will walk you through the simple steps. Then in their email they should have an invite to join my Google Classroom. If your child's gmail was set up last spring and you forgot the username or password, send me an email ([email protected]) and I can help you retrieve those. If you know your child is enrolled at Ray but don't know which kindergarten class they are in, send me an email ([email protected]) and I will try my best to help. I will be teaching starting 8:45 am on Tuesday and therefore will be unavailable to assist with any login issues that may arise. If needed, try calling the Ray office (phone number on Ray website) or contacting our counselor Ms. Nieto (email on Ray website). In order to join our live Meets sessions, click the link on the banner of the Stream page in my Google Classroom. Instructions are posted a few posts down from this. We are doing our best to limit screen time, besides the required by CPS, for our kindergarten students. During asynchronous learning, students will have the choice of many hands on activities. We have only set up two online programs. 1. IXL: Literacy and Math - Emails with instructions for setting up the accounts were sent to students through their CPS gmail. 2. Epic!: Online Books. Parents are receiving emails on setting up accounts. The class code, another way to activate accounts, is also in the Orientation Slides a few posts down. Remind: Follow in instructions in the Orientations Slides (a few posts down) to connect to Remind. This is a messaging app so that I can send out announcements to families. (Ray has switched over from ClassDojo, which we no longer use) There has been much anticipation over this school year and I am so excited to get started! Comments are closed.
